Hi, friends! I hope the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing and the lemonade is flowing in your neck of the woods. After an unusually dry spring on the ranch (it was officially declared an extreme drought), we finally started getting some rain, so I’m feeling especially thankful for our green grass. As my father-in-law Chuck used to say, “Don’t worry about the rain, it always comes just in time.” I smiled and thought of him when those first drops started sprinkling.

A lot is happening this summer! Ladd and I are getting ready to move into our new house on the ranch. We’ve enjoyed living in the smaller guest house next door where the kids will stay when they come home, but after a year of relatively close quarters with my favorite husband, I’m ready to spread out a bit! And now that our homestead isn’t a construction zone, I suddenly want to plant every flower known to man, though I need to pace myself or I’ll be spending two hours watering them every day once July and August roll around. I’ve gotten into that situation before!

We also recently finished remodeling The Mercantile in Pawhuska, and I’ve loved hearing from visitors and locals about how much they like our new sparkly space. I’m traveling less for work these days, and I’ve been enjoying doing most of my filming and product development close to home and focusing a little more on The Merc. It’s such a special spot, and our staff is so amazing! They’ve really become a close-knit family, and I’m excited for the fun we’ll have this summer.

Speaking of fun, I launched my line of furniture at Walmart! I’ve been working a long time to create pieces that feel special and unique and that have amazing quality, a short delivery window and of course, reasonable prices. It takes a while to tick all those boxes, but oh, the furniture is gorgeous. I’ll launch kitchen and dining furniture first (check out the new hutch), then office, bedroom and living room soon. I can’t wait to show you everything!

I’m fired up for the days and weeks ahead: I’m ready to cook, sip sangria, get a little sunshine on my face and enjoy the freedom and fun. My kids will be home quite a bit (the boys have a month off from college football) and this empty nester can’t wait. Oh! I just realized I’ll have extra help with my flower-planting pursuits.I need to get those boys some garden gloves...

Happy summer!
