As a home cook, how many times have I uttered that phrase over the past 27 (give or take) years?!? I'll answer that: A whole heckuva lot. For me, dinnertime has always been that puzzle to solve for me. Not occasional parties. Not breakfast. Not a special occasion dinner or holiday. It's what to cook for dinner...night after night after night! And it's how to do it without being stuck in the kitchen forever, which I seem to have no patience for these days. Call it brain fog, call it empty nest, call it "I just want to live my life and be the keeper of my own schedule!" I still love food and I still love cooking...but I want to get in and get out, and make delicious food along the way. A reasonable wish, right?

And to make things really fun, I double-tested each recipe in the book with two different cooks...then averaged the time! So you pretty much know what you're getting into with each recipe.
