Selfie Scrapbook! All the Self-Shot Pics of Ladd and Me On Our Vacation

I'm a fair-skinned redhead and have sunglasses on my person at all times. My eyes are too sensitive to stare at a phone in the bright sun---but Ladd hardly ever has shades! So this is the first of many "Ree in Shades/Ladd is Shadeless" shots. I love a good photo series!

The first morning we were in Vail, we went to the Lutheran service at Vail Interfaith Chapel, one of my favorite places on earth. It's a special little church, and also holds Episcopal, Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, and Jewish services. I love it there. (I took my sunglasses off during communion, haha.)

Every morning of our trip, Ladd and I would take about an hour-long walk. Sometimes we'd walk along the creek, sometimes we'd walk up the hills and look at the houses, sometimes we'd walk around town. There were plenty of places to stop and snap selfies, and I tried not to pass up and opportunity.

Does anyone remember the whole preppy phase in the early to mid eighties, when ardent adherents to prep tried to make pink and green happen? I remember wearing a kelly green a-line skirt with a pink izod to my junior high school. It really didn't work too well. I don't think you can be preppy in Oklahoma! (Was in a shady spot, so I took off my shades here.)

Poor Ladd! Haha. Also, this selfie was brought to you by the spf 50 I slathered on my face every morning. Between my spf and my sunglasses, I had no problem pointing our faces toward the sun to get that golden glow. I think it was after this selfie that Ladd said something along the lines of "no more golden glow, please."

The thing about Matteo and Teresa is, they don't wake up as early as we do. 😂 So it was still just us on our morning walks. This particular selfie cracks me up, because I look like I partied a little too hard the night before---hair is a little crazy on top, sunglasses are crooked, ha! But mostly I like it because it shows how much fun we were having.

Annnnnd Berry Picker! I think this was the last selfie I took on the trip, on our mountain hike the last day Ladd and I were there. My smile belies my utter exhaustion and desperation, but in hindsight the four of us really had a special time together. We all agreed it was a bonding moment, and we also all agreed we aren't in any hurry to do it again any time soon. But what a trip---I loved every minute!
