If I wasn't already filled with holiday spirit and Christmas cheer, I certainly am now! Yvonne Pastor and Eswin Rivera, our two incredible lead bakers, have just spent the last week secretly working on a gingerbread reproduction of The Mercantile. Spoiler alert: It is absolutely glorious.

Just look at this beauty!

When Yvonne and Eswin first sent me photos, I got a lump in my throat! It shows such dedication and attention to detail, and I knew they'd spent so much time on it. I kept going back and staring at the photos all night. This is the corner entrance to The Merc, with the "original" column (and the greenery that currently adorns it!)

And here's the beautiful neon Merc sign! I love the style of the letters!

This is the west side of the building, with the lettering on the windows---just like the real thing!

And check out the little parking spaces! I love how Yvonne and Eswin grabbed Christmas tree ornaments to stick in the spots.

Yvonne and Eswin, you knocked it out of the park and made my Christmas season complete!

The gingerbread Mercantile will be on display in The Merc bakery through Christmas. Drop by and take a peek!
