The interactive map, which is updated annually by SmokyMountains.com co-founders David Angotti and Wes Melton, is an easy way to find out when the fall foliage will be at its brightest depending on the state. All you need to do is head to their website and use the date selector at the bottom of the map to experience a visual explanation on how fall will progress across the United States. Pretty cool, right?!
"Similar to any meteorological forecast that is dependent on weather variables, the leaf predictions are not 100% accurate," the website explains. "That being said, after publishing our predictive fall foliage map for nearly a decade, we are confident in our data sources, process, and algorithm."
